I served as Harney County District Attorney for 29 years and handled dependency cases for over 25 years.  I considered those cases as some of the most important that a District Attorney dealt with, as we were dealing with the future of children.  I chaired the Harney County Multi-Disciplinary Team until my retirement in 2016 and also considered this work extremely important.  Upon retirement as DA, I served as Executive Director of the Oregon District Attorneys Association for four (4) years. AS ED, I worked in the Oregon Legislature, advocating for public safety and the needs of Oregon’s District Attorneys and public safety partners.  I was appointed by Governor Brown to serve on the Governor’s Foster Child Care Commission for four (4) years.  Upon my retirement form ODAA, I wanted to continue my work in this area and my wife (Marcie), who was a CASA, encouraged me to apply to the program.  I did so and have thoroughly enjoyed my work in Grant-Harney Counties.  Marcie and I raised three (3) boys in Harney County and we enjoy snow skiing, bike riding and chasing our two grandchildren
