Does your program allow staff to be CASAs?  If so, do you have policies for that?

Yes, in Malheur County both our staff people are also volunteers. We don’t have specific policy set up. What do you think needs to be set up?

We have a policy we just drafted and a statement of commitment. I can share them with you by email. What’s your email?

Jennifer I’d love to see your policy. We do need to clean up our policies so to clearly state that when staff are volunteering on own time, that xyz will be supervisor. We have always “just done it” where one person is listed as supervisor on another’s case but I’m sure that is not correct. When I was a foster parent still, we had another county supervising the CASA for my child and receiving the discovery. Another case where with our small towns, if we limit everyone to one role only, there will not be enough to go around!
I’d love to get a great policy on this! Thanks for putting the question out there!

Would it make sense to put the Jackson/Jo policy in the data sharing files?  Jennifer, if you think so, send them to me and I’ll put them up. Or put them in the <(!) Add Resources Here> folder in the <Program Resources> Folder and I will file them.  Thanks! Renee
