QuestionsCategory: Service (Volunteer Advocacy)Do you have a brochure/information that CASAs can provide to parents about their role?
Hannah Hinman asked 5 years ago

We recently had a CASA request something written to be able to hand to a parent to help facilitate their understanding of the CASA role. Does your program have something like this for parents? Attached is a draft our new intern created specific for foster parents, using a template from Susan for CASA advocacy prompts and a handout for foster parents Mary had shared. We\’re thinking one specific for parents would be great. Any other examples/suggestions out there?

We do for foster parents but not bio…I would think they would be about the same?

We were thinking there would be some differences in information regarding confidentiality and we wrote them with language specific to the audience (either FP or parent). I’ll upload the final versions we created.

You may want to look at these resources in our file library under Service (Volunteer Advocacy). the first is directed towards kids who have a CASA, and the second is for Foster Parents, but both may have ideas for what to give a bio parent.

Oh, yours is for Foster Parents, Sorry. I’ve put a copy of what you shared in our file library with these other two examples.

Hannah uploaded her brochures to the file library! They are filed under Service (Volunteer Advocacy)>Foster-Bio-Kids Info About CASAs
