Matthew Muenzen

Matthew moved to Oregon in July 2022 and represents children and parents in dependency matters in court.  Prior to practicing law in Oregon, he had his own law firm in Franklin, Tennessee. His law practice is limited to anything related to child welfare or juvenile law, including child abuse/neglect, child custody, juvenile delinquency, and guardianships/termination of parental rights/adoptions. He is certified in Juvenile Law – Child Welfare Law through the National Association of Counsel for Children.  Matthew previously worked at the Tennessee Department of Children’s Services for nine years, where he previously served as the Regional General Counsel and Supervising Attorney in Nashville and as the Special Advisor to the Deputy Commissioner and Director of Community Partnerships in the Office of Child Safety.  In Tennessee, Matthew was previously the president of the Board of Directors for Tennessee Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) Association, on the Advisory Board for a local CASA organization, and a pro bono attorney for a local Child Advocacy Center (CAC). In addition to being a member of the Board of Directors for the Oregon CASA Network, he is a member of the Oregon Department of Justice Children’s Justice Act Task Force.  Prior to practicing law, Matthew was as a police officer for a municipal police department in New Jersey and obtained a master’s degree and a law degree while working full-time. Outside of the courtroom and his office, Matthew enjoys spending time exploring all the beauty Oregon has to offer with his wife and two daughters.
