QuestionsCategory: Child WelfareWhat options have been tried for condensed CASA Training?
Debbie Bircher asked 5 years ago

We are looking to add a condensed pre-service training option to our schedule next year; do any programs have a 1-2 week training program that they are finding successful and would recommend?
Thank you!

Jackson County has been doing a condensed training for two years (2017 start) and says it is awesome. Their schedule is in the Resource Library at: Volunteer Management/Training/Condensed_Training_Schedule_Jackson_Aug2019

Columbia Gorge has offered a condensed training for winter to reduce winter driving issues for those driving in from far away. It has been the reason some signed up. They use Flex and do the training in 4 sessions (instead of 6) over fewer weeks.  They submitted an agenda from Winter 2019 which encompassed 5 sessions, which does not reflect changes they’ve subsequently made to comply with VOCA. Their schedule is in the Resource Library at: Volunteer Management/Training/Condensed_Training_Schedule_Gorge_Jan2019
